Cleanses, Colonics & Nutrition: How They Work Together

At Vitality Flow, we specialize in internal cleansing and nutrition for the purpose of restoring the digestive function.  Digestive issues affect your whole body.

Some common signs that your digestive system is not working optimally are excessive gas and bloating, acid reflux, poor nutrient absorption, skin issues, constipation and body odor among many others.

Good digestion results in feeling better in general and having more energy.

Common Myths About Cleanses

  • I have regular bowel movements, so I don’t need a cleanse
  • They are harsh
  • You can’t eat
  • You must fast
  • You can only have juices
  • It’s a diet

The three pillars of a Vitality Flow colon cleanse or digestive “reset” are nutrition, water, and herbs.

An Easy Cleansing Tip from Cindy: Celery Juice

One simple way to gently cleanse the body, improve elimination and support digestion is by drinking a glass of celery juice each day.

In my video I show you two easy methods to make healthy, cleansing celery juice at home.

It makes for a wonderful way to start or end your day.

Video Transcript: Two Ways to Make Celery Juice

Cindy: Hi Guys, thanks for joining us! Today we are going to show you how to make celery juice with a juicer and with a blender and nut milk bag and Sienna is going to help us with that. She’s got some great tips.

Sienna: If you’re someone like me and you don’t like bitter things, then you can chop off the leaves and it won’t be bitter.

Cindy: So what I like about celery juice is

  • it’s a healthy way to start the morning,
  • it helps with digestion and elimination
  • it’s great for anyone who has acne, eczema or psoriasis

A lot of my clients are clearing their skin conditions with celery juice.

Sienna: My mom is going to chop up the celery now. Chop up.

Cindy: Ok, now let’s wash it.

Cindy: My blender is very, very loud, so I like to wear headphones.

You want to blend it until it is like a mushy, liquidy consistency. I don’t add water.  Sometimes it takes a good amount of effort to get the celery blended.

So we’re going to take the nut milk bag and just put it over top of this glass bowl. And then we’re going to pour it in and simply squeeze the juice out if the bag. It strains it just perfectly.

And look at that - delicious, fresh, brimming with life celery juice here.

This is really easy if you don’t have a juicer and it really takes no time at all.

Sienna: Celery juice is a great start to the day.

Cindy: So with the pulp, we can use it and put it in the worm compost.

And we can take the bottom of the celery and we can actually grow a new celery plant. So we’ll just put it in the earth in the garden and it will start to grow a new celery plant. And this is one I planted probably about a month ago. I just put it on the earth and it’s rooted in here.

So this is a full bunch of celery, cut up and washed and we are going to do the juice in the juicer.

Sienna: Cheers to health!

Cindy: Cheers to health! Thank you for joining us for learning two ways to make celery juice.

We hope you enjoyed the video. And if there’s any other things you don’t know how to make, and you would like us to show you, just let us know.

We’re thinking about doing an almond milk video – how to make your own almond milk.

What is a Cleanse?

A cleanse, also often referred to as a "detox," is when you give your body a break from the foods that you eat every day that take a lot of energy to digest or are nutritionally unproductive (dairy, alcohol, wheat, refined sugars, processed foods, coffee, etc.)

During this cleansing time (3, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days depending on your needs) you fill your body to the brim with life-giving, nutrient-dense nourishing foods.

Nutrition

A clean nutrition program can stand on its own as a cleanse and improve digestion.

A clean nutrition program can also be combined with colon hydrotherapy sessions and herbal products to make the cleanse much more effective and the benefits more pronounced.

“Nutrition is the only remedy that can bring full recovery and can be used with any treatment. Remember, food is our best medicine!” ~ Bernard Jensen D.C., Nutritionist

I love this quote and I do believe food can help us to be healthy. However, the world has changed and so have the challenges that our digestive systems face and the way we digest. Our bodies are  bombarded with chemicals, preservatives, hormones, environmental pollutants, and lack of freshness in the food we eat. Stress levels are higher than ever.

We define nutrition as everything we put into our bodies via our eyes, ears, skin, mouth, and nose. All of these create a context for nutrition.

Changing one’s nutrition during colon hydrotherapy treatments reduces both gas and the amount of energy one is expending to digest food so that the maximum amount of waste can be released. This results in a reduction of toxic load in the body, bringing a feeling of relief and lightness.

Water

Colon Hydrotherapy, Proper Hydration & Water Rich Foods

At Vitality Flow, we encourage you to eat healthily and avoid common allergens while doing your colon hydrotherapy sessions.

Fifty percent of the benefits of colonics comes from following the specific nutritional guidelines that we will provide you with.

The other fifty percent of the benefits comes from the elimination of waste materials and hydration.

During a cleanse (with or without colonics), in order to help your body “reset” you will be:

  • Adding more fruits, fresh and cooked vegetables, steamed rice, lemon water, salads, soups and smoothies. You can eat 2 or 3 meals a day. You can drink 64 oz of water per day to help toxins exit the body. These easy to digest foods will:
      • fuel your body while not demanding so much energy for digestion,
      • help it let go of old toxic residue
      • hydrate you and provide live giving vitamins and minerals.
  • Removing common allergens such as wheat, dairy, eggs and corn products (to reduce bloat and inflammation)
  • Removing non-nutritious foods such as alcohol, coffee, refined sugar, processed foods, artificial flavors, chemicals and fast food. This will give your body a break from toxic build up, liver stress and difficult to digest foods.

Did You Know?

Hydration is one of the most overlooked and underrated benefits of colonics. Chronic dehydration affects most people. Signs of dehydration include:

  • dry skin and lips
  • brain fog
  • headaches
  • dark yellow urine
  • muscle cramps
  • craving sweets
  • tiredness and fatigue.

Herbs

Herbs are the leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, root bark, inner bark and resin of plants used for flavoring, food or medicine. The select herbal products I offer can be used for any length of cleanse.

A clean nutrition program can stand on its own as a cleanse and improve digestion.

A clean nutrition program can also be combined with colon hydrotherapy sessions and herbal products to make the cleanse much more effective and the benefits more pronounced.

Absorbed Through Skin

Our skin is our largest organ. Products we put on it are absorbed into the body.

Lymphatic System

Skin products are then sucked into our lymphatic system.

The Liver

Those same skin products are then filtered through our livers, which may become overloaded with too many toxins.

Cleanse

We can cleanse the body by removing the toxins with colonics––in other words, taking out the bad.

Nutrition

In addition to removing the toxins with colonics, cleanses include foods that clean our cells while adding an abundance of good nutrients.

“Every organ, gland and cell in the body is affected by the condition of the colon.” ~ Norman Walker, PhD
